A journey through the bizarre history of the eighties video store. In the 80s and 90s video stores were filled with action-adventure, horror films and Kung Fu madness. Due to the success of actors like Chuck Norris and Stallone countless imitations spawned, with ever cheaper special effects and insignificant actors. Aliens, robots and shaolin monks provided great entertainment for a few Dutch Guilders a day! We have undertaken a quest searching through attics and thrift stores trying to find the most absurd VHS titles, over-the-top trailers and crappy commercials. During this search we also discovered unique logo animations and home-brewed introductions, handmade by small Dutch film labels. This insane evening is presented in three blocks filled with B-actors, BMX bikes and legwarmers, and all will be shown in a glitchy 4: 3 aspect ratio, which almost cover up how lousy the special effects really are.
