Silent Ghosts

One morning, a young amateur photographer parks his motorcycle at the side of the mountain road and wanders through the wilderness, where he comes upon a woman, swaddled in white as though in a cocoon, lying amid the roots of the trees. When he returns in the afternoon, the woman has disappeared, leaving him in a fog. Was it all a dream? Was his mind playing tricks? Yet, there are other men with their stories about an encounter with a mysterious woman. Five men, five histories, five apparitions of a woman.

Garbed in stunning, languidly paced cinematography, lush colours and astonishing sound design, Silent Ghosts meanders through jungle paths and roadways, conjuring up haunted, haunting tales that unfurl just beyond the limits of concrete reality. A voyage through the lives of five men or the five lives of one woman, the film explores the corners of the mind, where gossamer memories emerge and pass by like gauze floating gently downstream, and where first encounters, reunions and farewells merge into one.
