We kick off the 52nd edition of IFFR with a screening of Munch, the festival’s official opening film. Norwegian maverick auteur Henrik Martin Dahlsbakken delves into the life of Edvard Munch, creating so much more than the usual artist biopic. He has the painter of The Scream played by different actors, in order to portray the many sides of Munch: that of a deliberate outsider, sexual adventurer, freethinker, genius and more. Munch looks back, but also ahead – just like we do, to the upcoming twelve days of IFFR.
