"Please don't kill me." This is the only defence the simple river fisherman José has when he once again finds a gun pointing at him during a hopeless odyssey that starts when, after a night fishing, he finds that paramilitaries have taken his two sons. And maybe killed them and thrown them in the water. The only thing left for José to do is search for their bodies.

After award-winning documentaries, this is the first feature film by Rincón Gille, who tells this intriguing story in the same calm tempo as the steadily flowing river at the heart of the film. Or rather, José is really the heart – a first role for Carvallido Lobo, a non-professional actor of few words but with a strong physical presence. In this bizarre world of armed maniacs, terrified survivors and some people willing to help, José's sorrow and tenacity take on an almost mythical quality. Discover the Colombia of 2002.
