Will Work for Drugs; So Real It Hurts; The Gun Is Loaded and Paradoxia: A Predator’s Diary: the titles of her books alone set the tone for a special evening of provocative prose.
Best known for the intensity of her music, both solo and with a whole string of collaborative line-ups (from Teenage Jesus and the Jerks to Big Sexy Noise), the totemic figurehead of No Wave cinema and music brings a spoken word set that typically targets the patriarchy and institutions of power. While her archive has found a new home at the New York University, 60-year-old Lydia Lunch is as unapologetic and incendiary as ever.
