Beth B takes us into the 21st-century underground, revealing a secret world where cutting-edge performers are taking hold of an often dismissed art form, burlesque, and driving it to extremes that most have never seen. Operating on the far edge of burlesque, these performers combine politics and physical comedy to question the very concept of 'normal'. Through them, we get to examine our own inhibitions, as a way of liberating the mind as well as the body.
Exposed profiles eight daring young performers who use their bodies to challenge our notions of sexuality, disability and gender. It takes people out of their comfort zone and asks: What are your boundaries? Just how cool and liberated are you? What are your taboos? The film is a powerful and entertaining affirmation of the worldwide struggle for equality and acceptance for all human beings – regardless of color, shape or size and religious or sexual orientation. Exposed is '100% human rights'.
