Ulrich Herzog is a largely unknown early representative of post-war experimental cinema in Germany. His 8mm films and installations were mostly shown in small artistic circles. The title of this film, which combines flicker effects and comic strip elements, refers to an old belief that each solar eclipse produces a war.
