Fung Chih-chiang once again proves that no city is as perfect for genre cinema as Hong Kong. Fung built up a reputation contributing to screenplays for films such as Shaolin Soccer (Stephen Chow) and Sparrow (Johnnie To). After directing a modern Western, a showbiz satire and a musical, he’s really picking up speed with this highly amusing police thriller-cum-Freudian drama, aided by a strong ensemble cast led by Cherry Ngan, Louis Cheung and Louis Koo.
A man who some months ago was involved in a violent raid on a jeweler’s shop is found dead.
