Rodney Luxemburg, born in the Hoogvliet district, has been a Rotterdam tram driver since 2003. He started out filming his routes on a Nokia, moving on to a GoPro two years ago. At RTM a continuous screening of his hypnotic images of Rotterdam awakening with Tram Tales, a combination of footage of Lines 4 and 8.
On primetime, Rotterdam based poets and spoken word artists will present their poems on the city under the name IFFR x Poetry International x FLOW. With: Be Romy, Anne van Winkelhof, Marco Martens, Daniel Dee, Mark Boninsegna, Brooklyn, Rien Vroegindeweij, Y.M.P and Dean Bowen.
Afterwards, a performance by writer/performer and adopted Rotterdammer Marco Martens who paints with words – rough and no frills. Together with musicians Michiel van Iersel and Joris Sedee and in a mix of rap, theatre and pop songs, he will play work from the albums Ieder huis is uit vertrekken gebouwd and Morgen zal ik thuis zijn. Specially for IFFR, he will also perform the brand new track ‘Filmhuis Rotterdam’, an ode to the hotbed of stories: Rotterdam.
