With Dog Lady, film company El Pampero Cine - which previously made the superb Extraordinary Stories (Mariano Llinás, 2007) - once again presents a strikingly different production, this time directed by Laura Citarella together with Véronica Llinás, known mostly for her theatre work, who also plays the unique, intriguing lead role. With a pack of dogs, a woman leads a self-imposed, autarchic existence on the periphery of Buenos Aires where the buildings start to give way to the Pampas, defending herself from the elements and other threats. Mariano Llinás wrote the synopsis:
A woman walks through the field. Surrounding her, the dogs run, and whirl, and roll, and spread all over the frame, undoing fiction like the legendary weaving of Penelope. Further on, the world, and the outskirts. Seasons, day and night and the different versions of the sky.
