French filmmaker Marcel Hanoun’s swansong. Hanoun, who died in September 2012, made the film in his own home, where he had two actresses sit behind a table and read texts from a music stand, replete with references to Dante and James Joyce, among others. ‘Cello’ was Hanoun’s nickname: (Mar)cello.
