The Tempest: Poem on the Sea (1947) was filmed in Brittany, the region where Jean Epstein found much inspiration. He gave the rough sea and the howling wind an important place in this short film, both in sound and image. It is a mystical story about a woman who senses that something will happen to her boyfriend, a fisherman, when he sets sail.
