A counterpart to Aro Tolbukhin – In the Mind of a Killer, this is a documentary about a true and also real-life poète maudit directed essentially like a fiction film featuring an actor as Bauçà’s ‘double’. Again like Aro Tolbukhin – In the Mind of a Killer, the aesthetic is wilfully self-contradictory, playfully jarred and edgy. Identity here, as ever with Villaronga, can never add up – there’s always an inexplicable surplus. The side work as key to an œuvre.
