Finding the Telepathic Cinema of Manchuria
Manchuria, in the north-east of China, was a disputed area in the beginning of the 20th century. This short essay-film, a fictional documentary, offers a witty combination of found footage, and animation with a hypnotizing soundtrack, questioning our notion of (media) history. Part of the larger project The Lost Tribes that also includes an installation (see XL location nr. 11).
