Bookkeeper Jacob (Jacob Derwig) has a new client: the flamboyant yet snappy actress Anne (Anneke Blok) - who is past her prime. During their first appointment on her houseboat, he finds out that her financial affairs are a mess. She has so many debts that she has to sell her beloved boat. She no longer has any contact with her ex (Gijs Scholten van Aschat), apart from when it comes to their 12-year-old daughter.
Jacob is so fascinated by the lifestyle of the actress and her entourage that he neglects his own loving wife (Rifka Lodeizen). The life of Anne is so grand and gripping that he starts to regard his own life as boring and pale. He thinks up a plan to save her houseboat and wants to announce it on the evening of the farewell dinner.
Tiramisu is a racy and witty romantic tragicomedy by Paula van der Oest, one of Holland's most productive and versatile directors (e.g. Tate's Voyage and Zus & zo). Light-footed and more dramatic moments are juxtaposed in exactly the right doses in this feature about an actress who was successful in her work but finds out that she has neglected the most important people around her.
