'Magnetic sleep' is a term used in the 19th century for hypnosis. For this spherical story about the vicissitudes of a female hypnotist, Janie Geiser uses a whole series of techniques. Alongside collage animations with integrated actors and re-photographed scenes, she painted the film material in order to create her stunning and dreamy visual idiom.
