What You See Is Where You're At

In 1965, a community of about twenty people, including R.D. Laing, moved into a large old building in the East End of London called Kingsley Hall. Over the next five years, the leaders of anti-psychiatry and their former ‘patients’ lived together, collectively exploring the definitions of madness and its relationship to social convention and the family.
The film is made as a collage of ‘found’ and archived sound and film recordings, re-appraising its relevance to contemporary society, and the culture of oppressive psychiatry and multi-national pharmaceutical companies.
