A hilarious documentary report about a merganser mother duck who initiates her ducklings into self-sufficiency. They have to leave the nest high in the trees; into the water. But not all the ducklings are equally bright. The maker, a newcomer and nature lover, observed the behaviour of the shy, inaccessible mergansers for three years before he could make the film.
