How do we find our way in the dark? In a cinema we are led by a series of small points of light (step lights, exit signs) that help us safely manoeuvre our way round all kinds of obstacles because they give us an idea of what our eyes cannot see. What is it that we are looking at? An exciting question we don’t usually ask when we partake of images of light in the same cinema. The path generally tends to be well lit. In this work, Pointeker plays with precisely this issue. Through a series of scenes, he takes us by the hand in the dark and leads us round in an unknown world. The picture only gets formed slowly.
