Site Specific_Shanghai 04
Oliver Barbieri is one of the most important contemporary Italian photographers. In this work, he provides the viewer with a bird’s eye view of the city of Shanghai. At the same time, this is a film about staying silent, because that is what the West did with the drastic developments that China has faced in recent years: from the bloodbath at Tiananmen Square (1989) to the painful birth of an economic superpower.
