Life on the slopes of the volcano Etna during and after an eruption. In partly documentary and partly staged images, we get to know the local inhabitants and communities. Even though the volcano spits fire, there is no sign of panic: appointments go ahead as usual. The 4 CT 1087 and its aged crew sets sail as usual; Wip and Cira show their bosses the tastiest mushrooms; travelling salesman Scorciapino has a new tablecloth for the lady. When the volcano has calmed down again, workmen make a strange discovery in the steaming lava.
