Jimi Hendrix paid a two-day visit to the Netherlands on 10 November 1967. During that visit, he performed on the VPRO TV Hoepla Show and at the Hippy Happy Show in Rotterdam. The poet-writer Jules Deelder says he met the guitar wonder. The encounter lasted less than 24 hours, but the bond of brotherhood was immortalised. What’s more, Hendrix allegedly stayed overnight at Deelder’s place. Jules Deelder has written a short story about this entitled The Guitar Wonder. But did it really happen or was a cloud of illegal substances floating over Rotterdam?
