The film project 26,000 Faces was started as a reaction to the Dutch Parliamentary decision made in early 2004 to remove a large number of asylum seekers from the Netherlands in the next few years. The project is the initiative of a group of about a hundred documentary and fiction film directors such as Paula van der Oest, Niek Koppen, Heddy Honigmann, John Appel and Hedda van Gennep. So far, 17 brief portraits have been made of asylum seekers with no further recourse to legal proceedings, in a variety of styles. These 17 films will be shown as shorts before Bluebird, Haven - Omzwervingen in de nacht and Labyrinth of Time.Block 1:1. 'What People Never Wanted to Know About Him' by Heddy Honigmann2.
