Shot on location in New York, 'Three' is another of Julien's explorations of the 'dance film' and is credited as being 'created by' the filmmaker with dancer-choreographers Bebe Miller and Ralph Lemmon. Impressionistic and poetic in tone and shot in burnished sepia and monochrome, 'Three' also has a second life as a single-screen work.
