Smile & Wave
Smile and wave at the local population. That was the instruction given to judge soldiers before they left for Afghanistan. Marijke Jongbloed followed them and recorded from close by their dilemmas and the communication problems faced by the eager soldiers in a country where they know neither language nor culture.
