Stratman (whose film In Order Not to Be Here was screened here last year) has the special gift of being poetic and concrete, impressionist and essayist at the same time. Without problems she combines stylistic forms which exclude each other. Through her eyes, the industrial landscape of Texas is not only a pictorial but also a concrete reference to the callous way the (oil) market works.
