Diplomatic Arena is a satirical modification of a Quake-engine, set on pre-emptive strikes. All the protagonists of Gulf War 2 tirelessly slaughter each other, accompanied by CNN soundbytes. This project takes the idea of a ‘mod’ to an extreme. Stripping away the weaponry, destruction, and competitive logic of the original game, it reveals the power and creative potential inherent in the underlying code.
