Party acted documentary with the Afghani film maker in the leading role. The film opens with a fragment from The Taste of Cherry by Abbas Kiarostami, indeed the famous dialogue in a car between the protagonist and the hitchhiker about suicide. The film maker looks at the fragment on a monitor and is clearly upset. And also inspired, that much will become apparent, because his ensuing quest (which also takes him to the Dutch embassy) for a document to improve his position is not free of the influence of Kiarostami.
