Former musician, DJ and photographer W.I.Z. has already directed an impressive clutch of pop videos as well as a concert film shot around a live performance by Suede at the Brixton Academy. W.I.Z. is a genuine artist truly devoted to music video, who experiments with an incredibly diverse range of styles. From graphic style videos, such as the Smashing Pumpkins’ Stand Inside Your Love, that makes references to German Expressionism; to the story-based Out of Control for Chemical Brothers; to digital animation in Mel G’s remix of Word Up.Jonathan Glazer’s style is largely based on sharp concepts mixed with an inspired taste for humour as well as disturbing references and a quick-witted editing. His ability to create space-driven narratives, supported by his unique talent in controlling and effectively mixing set design, camera movement and editing, is made evident by the great success of videos such as Virtual Insanity for Jamiroquay, that has been highly influential for its minimalist modern setting and smooth special effects. His début feature, Sexy Beast, was last year received with praise around the world. Garth Jennings is part of the designer duo Hammer & Tongs. The key to their catching visuals is in the unusual approach to the medium, the surrealistic storyline and the fresh sense of humour.
