In her varied work, Lidwien van de Ven prefers to explore systems of meaning and the cognitive process of perception. In her photographic work 'Cinema', she accentuates both the act of our own projection on the appearances of actors and also exposes the material nature of the screen. In 'Judith', she forces our eyes to investigate actively and comparatively. Not the frames but our eyes are moving incessantly.
