Two kids from Senegal try to escape the poverty and under-development of their home country. The young shepherd Mory (Magaye Niang) and the girl Anta (Marerme Niang) try to organise the necessary means and contacts to emigrate to France. They believe that they can find more income and a better life there. From the countryside, they travel by motorbike to the port of Dakar. Mory gets involved with extortion and theft to realise his ambitions, but is eventually unable to leave because he doesn't think he can travel without his lost amulet. The girl does better in realising her dream. Reality and dream get so mixed up in this film, that it is sometimes impossible to distinguish them.
