Sonic Genetics

Sonic Fragments was screened at the festival last year and went on to make a successful tour of international film and other festivals. The remix of seven films by artists from seven different disciplines about electronic music has a sequel this year in Sonic Genetics and in this way forms a new part of the Sonic project. Two of the original directors, Ian Kerkhof and Frank Scheffer, are this year joined by VJ Philipp Virus and the artists Mertzbow, Alec Empire and Mukaiyama Tomoko. Sonic Genetics is a dynamic audio-visual collection of transformations of and a selection from existing material, in this case Sonic Fragments, with the addition of surprising new material.
