Classic Mexican melodrama in which the young woman Rosario (played by Andrea Palma) becomes a prostitute after losing her father and finding out that her fiancé is having an affair with another woman. In the port of Veracruz Rosario lives above a run-down nightclub and sells her body to men who have been at sea. One night a sailor named Alberto (played by Domingo Soler) saves her from the filthy hands of a drunkard. Rosario and Alberto are moonstruck and go to Rosario's room together. After making love, they start a long conversation during which Rosario finds out that they might just be brother and sister....
