As exhibitor, publisher and producer of digital art, Digitalogue has been one of the most important forces in Japanese multimedia since 1992. Set up by the Japanese photographer Nomi Akira and the art directors Enami Naomi and Neville Brody (the latter from England), Digitalogue has now released more than eighty CD-ROMs, including the extremely successful Font Pavilion, a collection of digital typefaces by young graphic artists. As a sequel to the release of this CD-ROM, an exhibition of the typefaces was organised in the Digitalogue Gallery and they were also available on old-fashioned floppies. Since then the Gallery has held more such Floppy Markets, where visitors can buy floppies at bargain prices with topsides decorated by artists. After having looked at the contents, they can then be swapped for others.
