The ink-black music videos of Chris Cunningham are made with an incomparable feeling for rhythm and sound, giving a completely different dimension to the music and repeatedly visualising sound in an innovative way. In recent years, Cunningham has developed a style of his own. A small selection from his oeuvre. In the urban nightmare Come to Daddy Cunningham added a frightening feeling to the sound of Aphex Twin. For Squarepusher he made a video that was set in an institution for children where a sweet girl escapes and swaps the brains of her guard with that of her dog. In the videos of Leftfield and Autreche he experimented with visualising electronic music. Madonna, who always had a good eye for talent, hired Cunningham for the video of her Frozen. Cunningham also worked on the latest film by Stanley Kubrick, Eyes Wide Shut, that has not (yet) been completed.
