Narakue means 'Into the Abyss', and it will remind many astonished viewers of the Medieval concept of hell as a set of concentric circles. A young woman climbs into an open grave in the forest and goes down... and down... until there's no further to go. In each level she passes through are people, most of them engaged in bizarre or sinister activities. Beyond that, the film defeats description. Tony Rayns
