Sonic Images

Sonic Images is a film project comprising six short experimental films, made by six different directors about a musician or composer working in electronic music. The combinations between director and musician/composer are: 1. Frank Scheffer & Karlheinz Stockhausen (Germany) 2. Alexander Oey & Squarepusher (England) 3. Rob Schröder & DJ Spooky (US) 4. Joost Rekveld & Florentijn Boddendijk (Holland) 5. Ian Kerkhof & Merzbow (Japan) and 6. Johan Grimonprez & David Toop. Between the screenings of the films David Toop and DJ Spooky will provide a music show. David Toop is a British musician, philosopher and writer of the widely-praised book Rap Attack. His last CD is entitled Screen Ceremonies. DJ Spooky (one of the pseudonyms of the New York star Paul Miller), conquered the whole of Europe after his show in Rotterdam last year and is one of the most important musical crossover innovators at the moment.
