The film tells the story of the son of a Holocaust survivor growing up in a house of imagined fear and ghosts, and his eventual trip back to his father's hometown in Germany to learn about their unspoken past. While in Europe he follows the same path his grandparents took in 1943, eventually ending at Auschwitz, where they perished.
