A woman suffers from the world and withdraws into herself. She creates a claustrophobic space, like a womb, to protect her against the many dangers that loom up in her paranoid spirit. A mysterious, nervous and hunted man appears and the woman increasingly identifies with him. The women articulates her thoughts in letters that she writes to someone who is not present. For instance, she writes: 'It's suffocating in here. It smells of dying brain cells, mine I'm sure.' (GjZ)
