L'autre coté: documents interdits I & II

Series of short fake documentaries made for television that are among the best and most inventive of what has been made in this field. Film-maker Jeaneeddy Filippe presented the films as long-lost documents about phenomena that transcend our imagination. The films give the convincing impression that they comprise fragments of archive material, old home movies, shots from video security cameras, etc. They are about such things as alien beings, mysterious disappearances, paranormal phenomena and strange medical experiments. The films provide evidence of great craftsmanship in making a range of authentic-looking documentary material. When they were broadcast in TV in 1990 and 1991, after the late 'real' news bulletin, viewers were very confused. The companies that broadcast the series were flooded with mail from viewers with lots of questions about what they experienced as true stories from the other side. (GjZ)
