Kino im Kopf is, according to the press material, a criminaleroticlyricalexperimentalfantasyhorrorsoapsplattertrasÉhroadmoviemelodrama, disguised as a documentary. E.P. Wischin, Willy Puchner, Carl Andersen, Christoph Mayer, Viktor Tremmel, Hans Weingartner, Hans Hermann Fink, Susanne Strobl, Richard Blue Lormand, Andreas Dusl, Peter Budil and Boris Schafgans tell director Michael Glawogger on camera film stories that do not exist or did not exist until Kino im Kopf. How many of us haven't had ideas that are certainly worth filming? Over the years those ideas get changed, embellished, expanded, cut back, characters are added, actors are thought of - but the films are never made. Michael Glawogger has collected twelve of such 'head' directors to stage and comment on the film they 'always wanted to make'. A couple of examples, as they appear in the film: We are sitting in the cinema, it is dark, the lens opens... Well, the film really starts with Peter Sladke, a tram-driver who goes to work as on any other day... The hero of this story is called Pichler, and this Pichler has a great passion... It started like this, that this film occurred to me, it was fourteen years ago, it must have been around Ascension Day 1982, and I can assure you this film has been in my head every since...
