The government (in the time before the fall of the monarchist regime) sents spies to a village that is largely under Communist influence. Som, one of the policemen, marries a widow from the village and moves into a house with her and her daughter Buadaeng. One day the house of Buadaeng's lover Khammanh is raided and his father taken away. Khammanh leaves to assist the revolutionaries. Buadaeng is advised to marry the rich boy next- door. Then Som gets orders to use Buadaeng as bait to capture Khammanh and his comrades. Som however feels attracted to Buadaeng. Then Khammanh and his men attack the village.
