No man's land provides a brief sketch of Tokyo at the time of the Gulf War. When Rika returned to Japan, she exchanges the rifle she has smuggled in for money. Then she goes and visits Mah, a friend from her home village who now lives in Tokyo. But instead of Mah, she finds Takeru, a self-made murderer. He lets her stay the night because she has nowhere else to go. That day the Guld War starts and television only showed pictures of the war. That same day Kobayashi and Kiyomi try to rob an evening store. They fail and Kiyomi flees. Kobayashi steals a car and on the way first picks up Rika and then Takeru. They all move into a house and the strange life of three young gangsters starts. When they run out of money, they shoot someone.
