Moving story about the first love of Jitka (11). While she is looking for her runaway cat, she comes to the high wall of the hospital garden. There she meets a boy in a wheelchair, recovering from a severe accident. He is depressed and benefits from the regular contact; she helps him taking his first steps and rediscovering his lust for life. For Jitka the encounters are her sweet secret. Without realising it, this is her first love, but one that is doomed, as so often in life. One day when her hopes are high, she surprises the boy with his girlfriend. Fortunately her youth gives her the energy to get over this disappointment. The high wall of the title is a metaphor for the barrier between childhood and adult life.
