Tro’ Vé

Loan, a young woman from Hanoi, teaches at a school a South Vietnamese town. Hung, a brother of her colleague, is in love with her. He leads a lazy life, although he should maintain his wife and children. Then Hung leaves to go abroad, despite his love for Loan. During a holiday Loan visits her birthplace and meets Tuan, an old school friend who has changed into an ambitious man. He works in Saigon. Three years later, Loan marries Tuan. Her life has not become any more interesting. Hung, who now calls himself Vincent Nyugen, returns to Vietnam on business. Loan decides to end her marriage, but the two have grown too far apart ever to be able to live together again.
