A graceful modern comedy in which the age-old theme of the ménage à trois is taken by the horns in a refreshing way, partly thanks to the special way in which the screenplay evolved: six writers each provided a part. The film is set in Los Angeles and the vicinity of Hollywood is tangible, literally and metaphorically. Joseph (Eric Stoltz) and Sarah (Meg Tilly) are about to get married. On the eve of their wedding, their best friend Frank (Graig Sheffer) realises he is in love with Sarah. During a party, Frank gives Sarah a passionate kiss in the presence of Joseph and all the other guests. The love-hate ménage à trois is a fact when Joseph does not just blame Frank for his behaviour, but also reproaches Sarah for the kiss. At a later party, the confrontation between the three comes to a head.
