A far-from-gentle, very original horror-comedy that gives the concept black humour new meaning. A mysterious Englishman played by horror idol Christopher Lee, loses his ancestral castle at poker. When the 'lucky' winner takes possession of his new possession, it turns out to be a terrifying house of horrors with a kind of malicious fourth dimension in which bizarre and mysterious games are played. The Funny Man living in this fourth dimension makes life difficult for the new inhabitants, if he lets them stay alive at all. He wants to restore the court of a former bloodthirsty dynasty. Scenes that look like modern drug hallucinations are juxtaposed by with age-old horror stories, resulting in a satire that slaughters many sacred cows.
