Whimsical film that has failed to reach cinema screens in many countries including Holland. It has circulated in video stores, but the Oz programme now offers an opportunity to see this wayward film on the big screen. combines animation, actors, elements of horror, thriller and film noir while also being a parody on all the above. Bakshi uses these ingredients to evoke a crazy 2-D world in which several non-drawn people find themselves. For instance there is the disappointed war veteran Frank Harris, who finds himself in the animation world after a mysterious accident. No one suffers from emotions here and Harris emerges as a kind of defender of drawn beings, some of whom are not happy with their life without feelings. The sexy Holli Would yearns for 3-D emotions. The arrival of cartoonist Frank Deebs, her creator, offers her a cream of a chance.
