was the first film completed in this French series and was screened in Rotterdam last year. In order to capture the teenage mood, film-maker Mazuy situated the film in the period when she was herself a teenager: the seventies. She tells a fine little drama about baker's daughter Christine who dreams of John Travolta, but one days meets his opposite in the bus home from school: Nicolas is 17, lanky, melancholy and a poetic intellectual. Nicolas is not really interested in Christine at first. He only approaches her to prove to a friend his assertion that to get a girl you only have to want her. They make a date, but Christine can't make it because she suddenly has to look after her parents' shop. The small-scale drama slowly becomes a major tragedy.
