The staff of Das kleine Fernsehspiel is really responsible for the discovery of Clemens Klopfenstein. They saw the footage he had shot of Rome by night and produced his film Geschichte der Nacht. Transes was a sequel he was able to make thanks to their support. Three more were to follow.Transes is a good example of the so-called Kamerafilm; a film made on a small budget but with great freedom. Klopfenstein made a kind of primeval Transes on 8mm as a student, a 'travel home movie' filmed from the train from Biel to Basel. That film is included in the Master Home Movies programme. Thanks to Das kleine Fernsehspiel, Klopfenstein was able to professionalise his travel home movies.
